"Ski Jacket " - Review of The North Face Trilithium Triclimate Jacket - Men's

Rating for this product: 4 By Hunter N. (1) on January 23, 2008
I previously wore a Columbia with a fleece liner. I decided to go to the Northface jacket based on the positive ratings that they had recieved. Positives - + Warm jacket although questionably thin inner jacket liner. I was pleasantly surprised to find out it was warm and confortable even at 10 deg. F and -10 wind chill. + Tall neck on jacket provides good cover to tuck your face into when riding the lift and the wind is harsh. Although not a fan of ski jackets with hoods, the included one looks to be of good quality and a plus to have it removable. + Ski Lift tag holder include in jacket with "quick" clip. + Seperate pocket in outer shell for Ipod/Cell with cord hole for headset Negatives. - A major drawback for me was that the inner jacket did not zip into the shell as I have had the Columbia jackets do in the past. Its annoying to use as an everyday jacket and need to zip up twice. - Although this is a minor consideration, the hood section on my wife's Spyder jacket has a flap section to neatly tuck the zipper from the hood into on the jacket. I found that a very well thought out addition that was not on my North Face TriLithium. Final Analysis Nearly a month of use(mostly skiing) and I'm fairly happy with the jacket. Probably will consider a few of the negatives on this jacket in the purchase of my next one. How well the jacket wears compared will determine if i stay with North Face or look to another brand. HUGE ++ to the staff of Backcountry.com online chat. Great customer service when the first jacket was ordered too small and an exchange was needed. They were friendly and very helpful.
