Gear Review
Believe the hype

I've been lusting after this kayak for a while now, and finally got to try it out. It was everything I had hoped for. It's an absolute rocket. Once up to speed you can maintain speed with only relaxed strokes, and if you go to a balls-out high angle stroke it takes off like a missile. It's reasonably stable, and the length is about right in that it gives you enough boat to cook with but it turns pretty well (unlike the 17 footers, which turn like aircraft carriers.)
I sort of wish it was just a little edgier, since when you tilt it and dunk a rail, it does turn, but not as naturally or smooth as I'd like it to. Still, making it behave edgier would probably compromise something else, and just wouldn't be worth it. This is an absolutely fantastic, sexy boat.
