These are great britches, very nicely proportioned and tailored. I consider them well worth the steep price. The fabric is dense and soft but, because it's cotton, cool. The best part about them is how the the integral belt provides an exceptionally neat, comfortable fit at the waist. On the recommendation of another reviewer here, I did choose black for my first pair, and I love it. Today ordering the steel.
