Grab a Swallow!
By Powderhound
Ranked #738 - 4-Season Tents
March 18, 2004
I climbed Victoria's (Australia) highest mountain last week (Mt.Bogong), and camped overnight on the Summit. During the night, some serious winds rolled in which were battering all the tents in our group. The Marmot stood up to the test fantastically - whereas others were losing flys and almost blowing away. The design of the tent meant that it bended down towards the ground in high winds rather than try and take off!
Huge for two people (the way I like it), and although heavy for a two person tent, splitting the body and fly makes the weight acceptable.
Love it that you can zip the windows from the inside (when it also started raining), and that there are windows on the fly (to see the stars!)- although these windows could have been bigger. Ventalation was great.
Worked fantastically with the ground sheet and loft.
I felt safe inside, even though there were 80km/h winds outside!
