"best all purpose jacket out there" - Review of Outdoor Research Ether Jacket - Men's

wore this jacket every day for 10 days in the Collegiate Peaks - through 3 days of rain. I ended up leaving my Goretex jacket in my pack. The Ether is just water-resistant enough to fend off most rain, and the right weight and temp for giving you just a little bit of warmth over a baselayer. Super light weight!
