This review is about last year's model of the phat luv, it is the one with purple shiny graphics.
This is an amazing powder ski. I demo'd it a few times before buying, and just had to have it. Lucky me, it popped up on steepandcheap.com for a great deal, thanks to the folks here for the hookup.
The ski is a monster, huge dimensions, esp. the sidewall, make it float gracefully through all the freshy pow you can throw at it. This ski is exclusively a powder ski and doesn't do as well in groomed conditions, with some vibration, so stay off the marked trail and keep them safe in the closet when the conditions don't call for them. But, take them with you in the backcountry, the trees, the bowls! I think I am going to mount them with a tele binding for an upcoming hut trip. Also, with bindings and all, the ski becomes sorta heavy to carry, so not for pansies.
If I were you, I would demo the ski first to verify the size is comfortable and you can handle the girth. It is worth it to rent them. Get 'em on a powder day and you will be in heaven.
