I's not huge, but it fits my nalgene easily in the side compartment, has a soft, safe ipod top case, cinches up tight, and gets the job done. I've taken it on a few trail rides now, it gives my no rattle, and I usually forget it's there until I'm thirsty. It can definitely hold your lunch, a snack, a light jacket, and your water with nor problem. This pack is extremely adjustable and cool (even in a dessert) as well.
