I bought the Bluebell color and was pleasantly surprised by the color, craftsmanship and unique quality of the straps and footbed. Truly unique and unlike any sandal/shoe. However when I first adjusted the straps, I thought I would be set but I was sadly mistaken. This sandal I would say isn't really made for people with "high insteps/high arches" as there isn't really isn't enough material for the strap to cover the foot. The toe becomes strangulated then; with red marks and feels like it's cutting in. It's awful for the first 2-3 weeks of possession of the sandal but the material does eventually accommodate to your foot but when it's hot & humid and the feet swell there isn't much room to spare. ZX/1 is better fit if you don't like the toe option as it strangulates it a bit if you have a bit of a wider foot or higher instep/arch. Overall, I love the shoe but it took a long time for the shoe to adjust and I debated on returning. Just hold out and the shoe will accommodate to you eventually. I hope this helps!

I guess it is an individual decision on the fit....I was having leg and knee pain with swelling BEFORE I got my first Chaco pair. Immediately upon wearing them the first day, my legs didn't hurt at night and I have had no blisters, either. I now have 8 pair of them....all different colors and closed toe clogs. I LOVE THEM! You can bury me in them.....

After wearing for a while, the straps will stop adjusting...they'll kind of cement in place where you like them after enough dirt/water etc gets pulled through with the straps...I've found that at that point, the toe straps are so nice to have to keep the shoe in place no matter what type of hiking/terrain you're in. This is my favorite hiking shoe.

I found the unaweep terrific, except after a few wears, I found them extremely heavy, and my left knee would swell up each night. I live in Australia and it is warm here at the moment, so I will wait until it's a bit cooler and see if the problem goes - my husband picked up one of the sandals and commented in how heavy they were so it's thongs for me at the moment.
