The vest is a pretty good all-around piece of clothing. The ventilation is excellent and the vest fits well and is fairly light. It works well as an outer layer for warmer weather or for use mountain biking or day hiking. If you are looking for core warmth, I would suggest getting a heavier material than the Elixir. Although comfortable and breathable, the vest lacks the warmth of a good middle layer, especially when worn at 13,500 feet during a brisk mountain sunrise. If you want an aerobic vest- get it. If you want a warm vest- keep looking.
