This pack is a great buy. The detachable pack comes in very handy for day hikes and fishing gear. I've found that the pack does very well in the rain. On my last trip I put my pack in the back of my friends truck. We drove through torrential downpours and the gear and electronics were still dry. If you are looking to fit the pack to your body there are a number of different options to do so. The shoulder harness and belt can be taken off as well as the aluminum stays. I actually cut the aluminum stays down a little bit so that the belt fit perfectly to my body. There is plenty of room to pack everything that you would need for a week. The pack is rugged and holds up very well. I beat the crap out of all my gear and there isn't a mark on this pack. This pack is capable of carrying about a case of beer with all your gear packed in as well.
