The Quark is a great thin shell jacket, keeps the wind off and sheds the rain -though this seems to be more to do with the dwr coating rather than the fabric so I guess it will fade in time. Is basically the lightest/thinest softshell that you can buy -a good barrier to the elements but not as bomber as Gore-Tex and no insulation.
