Gear Review
Lightweight does not mean durable.

Ranked #138 - Men's Rain Pants
May 30, 2007
I have several TNF products and until now have felt that the extra cost was justified. I was looking to go with a lighter set of raingear when I happened upon TNF's Venture, side zip pants. Living in the Pacific NW (the wet side of WA State) I've become a bit of a raingear snob. This said I offer the following:
These truely are "lightweight" and lack the durability that TNF is known for. The pants tore on the first snag I encountered. I would recommend these pants as foul weather running gear but not for much heavier use than that.
The fit in the thigh and groin area was tight for me. I have a medium build (6'1" and 200lbs) and found the lg size pants lacked room for movement.
I think that TNF is on track with the idea of lightweight rainpants with full side zips but this item falls short. In a desert or tropical environment these pants may work but here in the PNW, I found them lacking.
