Ranked #1668 - Women's Rain Jackets
April 2, 2007
Who knew I could like a rain jacket this much? I have one of these already and am shopping for another in a different color because I like it so much. Tried the Marmot Precip out of curiosity and it doesn't feel nearly as comfortable against my skin as The North Face Venture does. (It's a bit "stickier" while the Venture is smooth and cool and doesn't stick to your skin at all like rain jackets can and often do.) Someone complained about the cut/fit saying it was too baggy and I couldn't disagree more. This is cut perfectly and looks so great on, with just enough room at shoulders, hem/hips. (Marmot Precip is large in bust/shoulder area but skimpy at hip so it's snug when you zip it shut. *Not* good unless you are an "apple" body shape.) Besides all the other great features, pit zips, generous pockets, stows in left pocket, adjustable hood, hem and cuffs, the thing I like about this the most is how breathable the fabric is, how it feels light and cool on without that rain jacket sticky & stuffy feeling. My spring, summer, fall companion.
