Difficult to operate at first

Ranked #313 - Alpine Touring Bindings

I mounted the Pure Performance bindings myself using a template I found on the web. Unfortunately, I couldn't get the heels to lock down without popping out. The mechanism wouldn't lock in. So, I took them into a ski shop and found they were mounted correctly, they just needed to be "worked in" using the full pressure of your foot to lock them down. Clearly this would not work with a ski pole until many cycles of wear in. Not a new problem experienced by the mountaineering shop. At least I know I mounted them correctly!
