This is a very lightweight jacket. It is not insulated. This is lined with a mesh fabric, probably to prevent or minimize the clammy feeling that you get from the un-insulated waterproof shells (haven't tested it out yet).
The jacket seems decent for what it is, but I would have preferred for the hood to roll away a little more neatly, and the biggest problem with this jacket is that the waist drawstring clip ends too high in the pocket, so if you want to tighten it, it scrunches up the bottom 3-4 or so inches of the front. It should have been placed lower so that the draw cord only tightens the bottom opening.
