The North Face Summit Jacket - Men's

Poor quality consistancy

By Ranked #9 - Men's Down Jackets January 30, 2007

I personally had a very poor experience with this jacket. I had to send the first one back becuase the large size was too small, so I ordered an extra large, which was WAY TOO BIG, and thus sent it back for a large again which this time was also too big. I ended up returning the jacket again anyway a buying a different brand becuase of the poor product quality and consistency. The last jacket I recieved had no loft, was lacking fill, and thus had many cold spots, and was cold. I tried fluffing the jacket in the drier like north face customer service had told me to, but it didn't help. It just made the down bunch into the ends of the sleeves and left none in the elbows or shoulders of the jacket. In my opinion as a long time consumer of North face gear, they have had very poor product quality consistency. The first jacket (L) I recieved was great, but too small, the second jacket was way too big (XL) but also made correctly, and the third jacket (L) was again too big and poorly constructed. I have also had the same experience with their sleeping bags. In my opinion you would be much better off spending your money on a different brand (becuase this is an expensive jacket), possibly a brand that hasn't become so mainstreamed and still cares about keeping a high standard of consistency and quality!
