I love these bindings. I haven't had any issues with mine concerning the cord. They close very soundly and while locked in feel just like a regular strap-in binding. You notice the difference at the top of the hill though, when your friends are on their butts doing up their straps and you just click yours into place.

Having ridden on both Clicker and Switch step-in bindings, these are by far my favorite step in bindings so far. I'd recommend them to anyone.
