The only problem with the Marmot ski pants is fit. I tried Marmot ski pants, including the Randonee, that were ok around the belly but waaay too long in the leg. I also tried Marmot ski pants that were ok in leg length but impossible to close around the belly. I am of very average proportions - 5'8 or so in height, about 160 pounds, and take a 34 waist. I finally found this one pair of Randonee pants that fit perfectly. They also performed perfectly in conditions where one could sweat, freeze, and get wet - and with these pants, I was comfortable and dry. They are totally waterproof and breath well. The knee pad inserts are great for a number of reasons, even though I don't tele. I was taking video of participants in a ski clinic, for example, and was kneeling to get some of the shots. I'm glad I bought the Marmot Randonee pants and recommend them to anyone who wants complete protection with breathability.
