Perfect winter running companion

The Marmot Evolution Half-Zip is an excellent shirt and shell for winter running. I live along the Hudson River in New York State and the wind can be very strong and cold in the winter. Around 40F the windshirt can be worn next-2-skin as suggested. When it's colder or very windy, I wear a silkweight or midweight baselayer underneath. This shirt equilibrates very quickly and keeps me consistently warm regardless of my energy/heat output. It never overheats and vents moisture rapidly. I'm more motivated to get up early and start my runs because I know I will be comfy. Note that this shirt provides little to no insulation and is at its best when the wearer is generating heat.
