Ranked #4930 - Men's Softshell Jackets
June 8, 2006
I have really found this jacket to be great in most conditions. It is what it is though, a jacket, and really not warm enough by itself for temperatures below 30 or 35F. I use it skiing and find that it works great with a MH Synchro underneath, or something else. I also used a technical fleece underneath for quite some time which worked well too. It's very comfortable, the zippers work great, and the pockets are in convenient locations. Pitzips are super for those 50F ski days in March. The only thing that could possibly be improved on is the hood, while comfortable and useful, it's not always the best thing to have when my ski helmet is on. Other than that, the Manticore is worth every one of those hard-earned pennies.
