"Excellent Value in a Quality Tent" - Review of Mountain Hardwear Hammerhead 3 Tent 3-Person 3-Season
Excellent tent—quality materials and construction. The Atlas 7001 poles are lightweight and strong.
I used the tent in May, 2006 for a 120-mile canoe trip down the St. John River in northern Maine. Cold temps and three solid days of rain. Set up and take down every day—prety rugged treatment for a tent. It performed flawlessly.
It will accommodate two people comfortably—three people would be VERY cozy! The two vestibules are very small as well.
I had a problem keeping the fly front taut. I added an adjustable nylon webbing strap which allowed me to tighten the fly at this spot.
I called Mountain Hardwear twice about this. I was told that someone from the repair department would return the call. No one called back. The third time I called, I was transferred to someone else who was able to assist. A little annoying. Customer service needs 'tweaking'.
Overall, I would buy this tent again, and I recommend it highly.
