I chose to buy these pants mainly because they come in a long inseam. I'm tall, and most pants are too short for me, but these are just the right length. They have a higher waist than most other pants I've tried - it hits right at my natural waist line (if you want a lower cut waist, try the North Face Paramount pants). The fabric has a light, airy, comfortable feel, but it makes a bit of a swishy sound when I walk, and it attracts lint and cat hair. I really appreciate the ability to roll these pants up to mid-calf length - they are so cute as capris! The zip-off feature is nice too, and I like that the zippers are labeled left and right so it's easier to get the legs back on. I wore them to the beach and accidentally sat in some sticky tar. I thought for sure that the pants were ruined! I used Goo Gone and a scrub brush to get the tar out. After several brisk scrubbings, and about 8 consecutive washings with hot water, I was afraid the area I had scrubbed would look more worn than the rest of the pants, or else the pants would just completely fall apart. But to my surprise, the pants survived the ordeal and still look new. If you saw them now, you would never know what I put them through. I'm very impressed! Overall, I'm really happy with these pants, and will probably buy a second pair in a different color.
