True simmer control
By Crag
Ranked #572 - Liquid Fuel Stoves
October 8, 2003
Tested the simmer control by cooking jasmine rice (not minute rice) and black-eyed peas (starting from dried beans)both of which require much less than full blast boiling. The simmer level could be set to cook both of these items at a level equal to the special simmer burner on my gas range at home. In fact, the Dragonfly simmer control could be set even lower than what was needed (down to the advertised birthday candle level). The level was not tricky to set, it was stable (both the heat and the gas control lever), and minute adjustments were possible. It is a great stove with true heat controlI love this stove!
I cannot fit the stove into the MSR Blacklite cook set without the lid popping off. Maybe its just me.
