The Alchemy's simply my favorite do-it-all jacket. It is tough, stylish and versatile. I've had the jacket for almost a year and have taken it on backcountry ski trips, rock climbing, extended backpacking and night on the town and it still my favorite thing to pack.
It shed water surprisingly well, unless you stand under the shower for more than a min, water will not penetrates. It fits a bit snug, so I'd order a size larger than you normally do to get a better fit. I’m 5'8”, 150lb and the large fits perfectly.
You will not be disappointed.
