It purges instantly. The medium flex and rigidity makes it an all-arounder. Pair these up with an additional liner for sustained trail running. The sole is grippy enough for canyoneering and sandstone 5.9/5.10 climbing. I love the single-pull lace system and stash. My EE's never felt the big/little toe irritation some reviews mentioned. Bought a pair for my 70-yr. young Mom....she won't take 'em off!
