Perfomance AT Boot

Ranked #1150 - Alpine Touring Boots

I had gotten into backcountry touring by using my downhill boots in a Fritschi Freeride binding, so I was used to having a stiff performance boot for the descents. After trying on many different AT boots, I found the Garmont Adrenalin to be the stiffest. After about a dozen backcountry skiing tours I've been extremely happy with its performance. I did have my local ski shop add a 'Booster' power strap to replace the stock power strap, and this did improve the performance of the boot. The walk mode functions comfortably and pretty naturally which is extremely helpful for long approaches or exits, and the Vibram sole is a lifesaver when crossing streams or down climbing over rock or ice. All in all, its an outstanding product. Also, I did take the boot to a local bootfitting ski shop to have the liner heated and molded and, of course, put my custom insoles into the boot.
