STH does well against wind and water...could be warmer

I purchased the STH because I lost my previous North Face softshell. The STH is more water resistant than my previous jacketa big plusbut that comes at the cost of some warmth. Missing the short, fuzzy lining of my old North Face, the STH doesn't feel quite as warm. However, both do really well in the wind, and the STH is perfect for cold conditions. You'll be fine in the STH with some layering to about 10-20F. While I was able to withstand just about any skiable temperature in the old North Face softshell, at lower temperatures (~0F), I think I'll need some serious layering. Most ask why I don't just wear a hard shell and an insulating jacket. I feel you don't have to sacrifice mobility to be warm, and this jacket seems to do pretty well.
Some other notes: the jacket has a really high collar that you can fold down. This could be good or bad. At first it's almost uncomfortably high, but later I began to appreciate the coverage all the way up to my chin. However, I wish the neck were snug so that I didn't have to wear a scarf underneath to keep the wind from blowing down my neck.
When all is said and done, this jacket is not perfectnot by my demanding standardsbut it was best I could find out there when searching for a windproof, waterproof, lightweight, fitted, and warm softshell.
