I work as field biologist the tropical rain forests of Puerto Rico, looking for frogs in the night. The headlamp is great! I use the LED light to find the frog and then I switch to halogen for a brighter view to cut the digits. As I said, RAINFOREST, it is wet all the time! The battery case is perfect, because when it rains I don't have to worry about it. I used to have a big headlamp with D batteries and it weighted a lot. It is pricey but it is worth it.
