Frozen AFD

By Ranked #72 - Alpine Ski Bindings February 10, 2012

I really like the Griffon binding on my Volkl Kendos but I had a problem the AFD freezing up. One day it was warm at the base of the moutain and substantially below freezing at the top. When I put my skis on at the top after grabbing a hot chocolate I noticed the AFD was completly frozen in place. Wouldn't budge at all side to side. I'm wondering if a fixed teflon AFD is more reliable for such conditions. I clicked in and tried to release sideways with no chance. Normally, with a really hard torque I can eject from the binding standing still. I wonder if others have experienced the same thing.
