I'll keep it simple:
-Inexpensive
-VERY durable
-They weigh nothing
-They don't lose their stretch in the cold
-You can use them for anything! I now keep a couple in my pack and they work great for lashing things to a daisy chain.
-The 9" size is great for nordic or backcountry up to about 70mm. Mine are 68/60/65 and the 9" works PERFECT.
