Ranked #100 - Men's Synthetic Insulation Jackets
February 1, 2012
I originally bought Gen 1 of this jacket in black/neon green and absolutely loved it..then I lost it. So I bought the Gen 2 also in Black. First the good stuff - I love the exterior material, general design and insulation level of this jacket. The shell is softer than Goretex and has a nice texture. The insulation is perfect as an all day winter jacket except the coldest of colds. The new black/green combo is pretty nice.
Here is what I don't like - I *think* the fit this year is a little larger. It might be my imagination but I don't recall the jacket hanging so much on me. I am 5-9, 170lbs, 33in waist, slight athletic build. I bought the Gen 1 jacket Large and it was a perfect fit for what I wanted - slightly roomy but I wouldn't call it baggy. Gen 2 feels more baggy. In addition, 1 stitch inside already came loose which is somewhat annoying for a new jacket. All in all I still like the jacket but I don't love it like my Gen 1. It's possible the Medium may now be a better fit on Gen 2 but I don't want to bother ordering another

I recently bought the large and am now in the process of exchanging it for a medium. I'm 6', 170lbs, 34" waist and thought it would be a perfect fit based on what others are saying. Instead, I think the medium will be a better fit and still allow for a mid-layer layering peice underneath.
