Not sure what this jacket is good for...

After receiving this jacket in the mail, I was unimpressed with the material on the inside. The outside fabric seems durable enough, but the inside doesn't seem useful for anything. It is not fleecy feeling at all, in fact it just feels like scratchy nylon. There doesn't seem to be any insulative properties to it at all, beyond blocking some of the wind I guess.

This jacket is a shell. It is meant to be the outer piece of a layering system. On a cold day you would be wearing a long john type base layer, a puffy jacket or fleece mid layer for insulation, and this jacket on the outside to provide some protection from wind and also water resistance. Hope this helps.
