And now for something a little different...

Things I like:
- the cut of this jacket is on the longer side, I get full cheek coverage.
- the over sized collar. nice when you want it and lays flat when not using it.
- grid fleece backing. underlayers still grab it some, but its better than other types of fleece lining.
- Cuffs. They are pretty good as adjustable cuffs go, with a design to minimize bunching up when cinching down.
- Drawstrings at the hem and neck
- Pockets. good number and placement. Hand ones are lined and huge.
Other notes:
-Fit: backcountry's listing of this as "loose" fit is completely inaccurate. Seems to be designed for people with slim builds and small frames, you will need to size up if you have any mass in your chest, or gut. It is loose in the arms though, to accommodate layers nicely.
-warmth: fleece backing is light but not ultra thin. About on par with TNF apex bionic.
- windproof: it's completely windproof, no question.
-cost?: Even though this is a well put together jacket made with good materials, the retail price point seems a bit high.
I own and have owned many softshells, and like this one for the couple of things that make it different, such as the longer cut and high collar. That, and it does what it's supposed to - block the elements while remaining breathable and not hampering my movement.
