Length does not vary by glove size?

I like the glove, technically but it loses one star for sizing. Sizing for kids' gloves/mittens always seems to be a challenge; I have yet to truly find a "true to size" glove or mitten. I ordered two pairs because we are leaving in a day for a ski trip, and my 9 year old is using poles and wants gloves instead of mittens. His hand measures 6" in circum around the knuckles if you pull the tape really tight, up to 6.5" if you leave it pretty loose. I ordered a L (for 6") and a M (for 5.5") per the Spyder Kyds sizing chart. I figured if the Medium is too small my 7 year old would use it this year or next, and if the Medium fits, we'd use the large in a season or two. Both fit him large in the length of fingers. I have small hands for an adult women, but his hand is nearly my size, his fingers are only a tad shorter than mine, so I don't think his hand is an odd size. My boys do run a little small, that's why I ordered a "true fit" on the lower end and smaller size. I thought it was odd that both gloves fit identically, so I double checked the manufacturer's label in the glove and I did indeed receive a medium and large, but they are the same exact size in length. I'm not sure if there is a product error, or mislabel or if they just make all their gloves the same size. I wear a women's small glove, and I can wear the Kyds Large (it's snug, and a little short in the hand/wrist, but in a pinch I could actually wear it functionally). I put on the medium and it does indeed feel tighter, but it fits the same in the length!

If you can figure out what size you need and fit it right, it's a nice glove. The materials feel durable, double stitching throughout, good feel, no irritating seams in the finger tips or palm. Mobility/flexibility are good. As described the lower part of the fingers (connecting to the palm) are not separated like most gloves, separation starts just before the first knuckle (for greater warmth). Not sure yet if that works, it may feel odd if you aren't used to it, but it doesn't bother me or my son. Styling is good, both boys think they look cool (got red/black). Gauntlet could be a touch longer, but it cinches nicely, and there is a wrist adjustment also to customize fit for width and keep the glove in place. Haven't tested the breathability/moisture wicking/warmth features yet, but we've been pleased with Spyder performance for ski coats/pants so I'm expecting the same. The brand has been reliable performance-wise, typically fits true to size or just a bit generous.

Tip of longest finger to wrist: 7" M, 7" L

My 9 year old is 50% on the growth charts, he weighs about 65 pounds, 54" tall, wears a size 8 in most clothing, takes a size 2 shoe, and the medium and large gloves both fit a tad big, mostly in length, ok in width. His hand is 6" circum, 6.5" in length (longest finger tip to wrist).
