Bombshell is the Bomb!

I have been lusting over these bibs for a couple years now. I finally had an excuse to buy them when I blew the crotch out of my old bibs. I have been a fan of Backcontry.com's gear for years and own more than a couple of their jackets. Naturally when they sold their product line to Stoic I followed obediently. No regrets! Still great quality and great design. My three year old BC branded welder jacket is very similar to this Bombshell stuff and it was unbelievably breathable and water proof. The most comfortable thing I ever wore when skiing in temps ranging from 0-40F. I can only expect the same from these bibs. Just don't be an idiot and wash this with laundry detergent or even worse, fabric softener. I killed my prized jacket this way and the same will happen to any softshell fabric. Invest in some Techwash!

The fit of these bibs is definitely intended for those in better shape then me. I am 6', 250lbs with a bit of a belly (size 38 waist, 32 inseam jeans with some belly overhang...) The widest part of my belly measures 46" around when I let it slouch. I went with the XXL to clear my belly and the rest of the bibs are HUGE when the "waist" is just about right. The legs are incredibly baggy so much so that I fear I may have to return them in favor of less technical brand that caters to the more portly crowd... I won't make a decision until I try them on with my boots but I feel like the material the extra material on the thighs will turn into sails when I am screaming down the mountain. Not Stoic's fault that I am out of shape but maybe this will be a good data point for some of you guys.
