Nixon Lodown (silver/black)

Ranked #10 - Running Watches

read a few bad reviews about the lodown leaking but I chatted with a rep online for backcountry before I purchased the watch and he said the quarantee everything for life plus they carry the latest product. According to a review I read Nixon addressed the leaking issue and put out a newer lodown with better material. I got lucky and found this watch for $65 on backcountry's site and now they are up to $100 and even more in the surf shops. So far so good with the watch it was pretty simple to set the time, tide, beach etc. It is very hard to see the time in a not so well lit room but you can hit the light button for a quick peek (I wish it would come on automatically when you raise your arm like the G shock does because that is a very nice feature). I've been trying to test the tides and compare them with what's on magic seaweed and from what I can tell they are pretty close. The overall feel of the watch is pretty comfortable and it is not that big so not pressing on my hand a lot like some watches do. I would recommend this to a friend especially for under $75. Now it's time to catch the Nixon stainless steel watch on sale because I really would like to sport that one for work.
