Badass!

Ranked #362 - Big Mountain Freeride Skis

I just took these bad boys out for the first time today at Snowshoe, which, as you might know, doesn't have much snow yet this season.. today was a bunch of ice and crud. The guys mounting the bindings (Marker Jester with 130mm brakes, definitely get the 130s) tried to scare me that these were only going to play well in deep pow, but that couldn't be further from the truth. These are the most fun skis I've ever had. I have such a great sense of confidence and stability on these skis, it's unreal. They definitely ski much shorter than they are (I got 183 cm, I'm 5'8" and 130lb, and while I love them, I wouldn't hesitate getting the 192). They play gently but charge hard. They're just a touch shady on big sheets of ice, but still tons of fun, if you don't mind your skis screaming like a jet engine going over it. And they are pretty lightweight to boot. And it doesn't hurt that EVERYONE has been checking out the graphics in line, asking what's up with these wide skis. I paired them with Nordica Ace of Spade boots and got even more looks in line. My new go-to all mountain ski.
