Ranked #380 - Men's Softshell Jackets
December 25, 2011
I was looking at several different softshells because I needed a new one without a hood. I bought and tried on several, including the Patagonia guide, Stoic mithril, Marmot something (I don't remember the name), and a couple more. There were a couple specifications I needed the jacket to meet. Good mid or outer layer with some insulation and no hood. As I was trying jackets on I got to the Norrona, and although it didn't have as much insulation as I was looking for... It turned around, grabbed me by the neck and drug me to the cash register.
I love this jacket! Perfect for layering, outer jacket in the spring, summer, and fall. Super good looking! I wish it was a little warmer (but that's only because it's winter right now).
I am 5'7'' 140lb and I wear a small. It fits tailored almost European style. I do agree with what some folks have said about the armpits being a bit snug. It's not too bad for me.
All in all; I am going to be wearing this under my pro shell as a mid layer while a paddle the grand in January, and again for the rest of the year climbing in the Wasatch.
