When i was looking for a down piece, price was not really an option. I need a piece that could serve as a light weight jacket for barhopping apres` ski in 20 degree temps, yet also serve a my cold cold weather mid layer to go under my hyvent (NF Gonzo jacket) shell.
This jacket fits the bill to the core!! I couldn't imagine not having it due to its versatility. Because of the fleece side paneling, it is extremely flexible. I have always felt constricted in other down pieces due to the nylon not being able to stretch. Not only that, it is more comfortable on the skin because of the fleece paneling in the arms.
highly recommended for cold weather jacket, with the ability to become a mid layer; just ad a shell! Also note, the 800 fill down is premium, you don't feel any pointy parts of the down feathers, 800 fill is pretty much just the soft fluff.
