Solid all around boot

Extremely solid boot. I've had some Sorel's for years and loved them for being burly, but also wished at times they weren't as bulky and clunky, particularly when trying to run (not exercise running, but in snowball fights, etc). These Baltoros are less bulky and easier to walk/run in than the Sorel and sorel-type boots while still being rugged, absolutely waterproof and maintaining excellent grip. They have been overall more comfortable to wear and feel more like a hiking boot than a snow boot on your feet. I don't know about the -40 F rating, but they are sufficient for snow shoeing and what not in Utah and, I believe, would do the job of staving off frostbite if you got stuck somewhere overnight in the mountains. Lip on the back heel of the boot for snow shoe bindings is a plus as well.
