I love these socks for hiking. I've tried a lot of socks and these are my go to socks for hiking. Even though I am a 6.5 to 7 shoe I wear these in a small with the bridgedale sock liner. I routinly hike 6 to 8 hours in these with no blisters or hot spots. I've tried other socks combos and these are the only ones that I can say that about. I've tried smartwool, backcountry, darn tough and the REI brand. None worked for hiking. I love my smartwools for everyday and wear them for biking, I also still wear the backcountry socks for bike commuting but when I hike it is these. I wash them in the machine and flat dry them so far they have held up fairly well, only a little pilling.
