Ranked #118 - Duffel Bags
November 15, 2011
I have 2 of these (S & M) and the S is overhead-friendly; the M is not. I use the M for car camping. It holds ALL of my weekend camping gear, including tent, sleeping bag, stove, clothes, sandals, etc. Keeps everything dry as well. I am planning a trip to CR and I'm taking the S (no check bags). I don't need too much gear, just clothing and incidentals which I will carry in my Osprey Talon 22 daypack. This is very high quality gear. You will never need to replace it even though you will be enticed by other gear. The colors are terrific too.

Sorry, my mistake. I checked my bag again, and it's the "small" bag that always fits in the overhead rack, end on, even when overstuffed. But the small is a pretty roomy bag. My medium bag is quite large, but I think you would have trouble fitting it in the OH rack (except if it was only partially full, and went in sideways).

I get my medium into the overhead rack, end in. And it's completely filled with camera gear wrapped in towels for padding. Fits ok.
