Ranked #463 - Men's Down Jackets
November 9, 2011
Didn't buy this product on backcountry. Totally my bad since backcountry stands by their sales while Montbell does not. This product leaks down more than usual and rips super easily. Totally made to be in an inner mid layer, but you still have to baby it. Buy something else.

I absolutely disagree with this rating - lightest, most comfortable, warmest for the weight of the ultra lights have purchased many for family members and will purchase more - I have 4 one leaked a bit but once i washed it leaking stopped - I wash in cold water, spin, hang and fluff have one I have had for 5 years still great

I also disagree with this review. I also have had this jacket for almost a year and wear it every week. I have worn it pretty much every day since mid September. It is a down sweater, not a bulky full on jacket. I wear it alone but also with a Gore-Tex shell. It is very light. I have had very little down leakage.

I had an issue with Mont Bell not warranting their products. Once it is "used" in their words, they will do everything possible to say it was your care of the jacket that caused the issue.

I would also have to disagree with this review. Mont Bell has a lifetime warranty that covers excessive down leakage. Also I believe the name of this jacket is the UL down inner so yes it is considered an inner. I have had one of these for years and have worn it as an inner and outer and have had no issues.

I have to totally disagree. I am a Scoutmaster of a very active Troop. I have one of these and it is my GO TO jacket for all but the coldest of months in Missouri. Yes its not made out of ballistic nylon and you got to watch that an ember from the fire doesn't make a hole in it, but you have to do that with anything. Yes if its nasty I put a hard shell on over it. It is what it is, a SUPER lightweight coat. People are shocked at how small it is, stuffed in its sack (which stays in the pocket when not in use). Contrary to the description its much smaller than a water bottle (1L) when stuffed in the sack. I am right now shopping for one for my own son.
