Norrøna Lofoten Gore-Tex Pro Shell Pant - Men's

Item #NRA0276 | 0 in Stock
3 Star Rating

nice fit, poor durability

By Ranked #268 - Men's Ski Pants October 31, 2011

I have used these pants for one season. The fit is very good, and the sizes match well. Pants also look very good. But after one season, the pants is completely worn out. It has torn in the crotch, delaminated and is not waterproof anymore. I use my pants a lot, but believe that a $ 500 pants should last longer. This year I will have the Arcteryx Stinger bib.

Killing Lies I will come to Norrona's defense as well!! I owned the 2010 Narvik model and the 2011 Lofoten model and I have never found an equal for durability. I have owned Patagonia and Arcteryx in the past, but they do not stand to the abuse that I give to them. My Narviks have 70 plus days on them and they are still rocking! The Lofoten Model is Iron Clad protection. I am amazed at the quality of the pant. Excited to let my children rip these some 20 years down the road because I feel that they will stand up to the abuse I send their way.

I have to say, Norrona is being super conservative in their defense here! These are the most durable pants I've ever owned. They last for many "hero" seasons, and are just so well designed. I'm not saying there isn't an occasional faulty pair, but jeez, these are far from weaksauce in terms of durability!

Hi! You are reffering to the last season version, and we belive this one is actually some of the more durable Gore-tex pants out there because we do not see that others are using the same "heavy" fabrics. But this seasons model is also improved in all way regarding durability. We have a even more durable face fabric. The inside around the boots is reinforeced with fabric glued on to protect against boots, All glue and seams are put on with more reinforcements, so this very durable pants should be even more durable for this season. Every time we make a new model we look at last versions and feedback from our repair centers to make weak points stronger.
