Norrona Pants

By Ranked #78 - Men's Ski Pants October 29, 2011

Let me start by saying that these pants are really nice. Extremely waterproof, as to be expected with the Pro Shell 3L. Fit is true to size, I am 6'1" 185lbs, 35" waist, and went with the large. The color, however, was slightly off. The green is a little lighter than pictured, almost lime green. The difference is not much, but definitely noticeable, and the color does not go with my jacket nearly as well as it would have. Pockets are nice, and the bib is easy to zip off, however it is a bit hard to zip up. The material on the bib is some sort of spandex, but IMO, for a $500 pair of pants, they could have used a nicer material (i.e. Shoeller Dynamic, Polartec Power Stretch, etc).

The side zips are 3/4 length, not full length. The gaiters work well. The Aramid material at the bottom is basically the same as Schoeller's Keprotec, however after one day of use one of the patches has frayed a bit in multiple places, while the other one looks brand new. Not exactly what you want in a $500 pair of pants. The material wrapping all the way around the bottom of the pant leg is a nice touch, allowing for full protection around the cuff.

Overall, I liked the pants a lot and was excited to receive them and get to try them out, however I think these pants will be going back. As a replacement, I'm thinking the Westcomb Revenant Bibs, however, I'm not sure of the differences between the 560NT eVent that is used on those pants and the 820NT eVent that is used on another pair of non-bib pants, the Vapor FX Cargos. I would imagine the 820NT is a thicker, more durable material, but have not been able to find out even through the eVent website. Any insight into that or suggestions for other bibs would be much appreciated.

Feel free to ask any questions of yours that weren't answered in this review and I'll try to answer ASAP.
Hope this helped.

Hi, can you take a picture of the pants that would represent better the color of these pants? I would be very interested to see them in real life.
