Ranked #25 - Men's Pants
October 8, 2011
Okay, so initially my review was "what's the big deal?" I'm coming off that a little bit. While I will never call khaki's "bomber," these pants are akin to a workhorse. I've been wearing them for four days straight on a surf vacation this fall. They get progressively more comfortable with every day. While I do not think these are good climbing pants (not flexible enough), they have been great on pre-dawn, chilly mornings as I drive out to check out the local breaks. They're also fairly durable. i've worn them working around the house, fixing dings in my surfboards, and just knocking around.
Overall, they're similar to a quality pair of utility pants, although a bit more comfortable (the fleecy waist lining is a nice touch. I still don't know if they're worth 100 bucks, but since they were a gift, I'm not complaining.

Couldn't disagree more. Such good range of motion with these pants--the Rockettes would be hard pressed to find more fitting garb. They do not stretch, it is true, but there are several features about these pants that make them way more than another pair of khakis. The gusseted crotch--a feature more and more common with outdoor pants--allows a lot more range for your motion. But, one flaw present with every other set of khakis that I have ever tried on is a surplus of front rise (the length from bottom of crotch to waistline i.e. zipper length). If the crotch seem falls to mid thigh the ability to raise a leg to hip height is absolutely lost, thus constricting range of motion. For a climber, it is a total advantage to get that crotch seem as close as possible to the crotch--you're going to need a high foot at some crux move sometime. Furthermore, for any tough guy boasting the nine inch member; one word--harness--you will not have space for your junk no matter what if you are climbing. In fact, you'll enjoy less fabric to bunch and pinch above the harness' leg loops. Here's to the best pair of cotton pants on earth!
