I can second many comments posted here already. I don't typically write reviews for products but I don't typically get something SO poorly thought out.

Both my fiance and I bought the same headlamp and both had the same problem with flickering light after MINIMAL usage. We used ours for one two-night backpacking trip and, thank god, only discovered the problem after we tried to use them after we got home. Upon quick research, lots of other people have had the same problem.

I WOULD NOT TRUST THIS PRODUCT.

This problem does seem to be fixed. My brother, my wife, and myself all have this light and used it on a trip over a couple of nights. These lights were used for runtimes probably more than a couple of hours at a time while we were working around the camp at night. We didn't have any issues at all.

Hey John, Sorry you experienced a flickering. When the Byte was first released we had a small amount of circuits that would flicker when the batteries were low. This problem was immediately identified and corrected so the current Byte functions flawlessly, and there is no reason why yours should not as well. Please contact us (609-298-9331 or info@princetontec.com) and we would be happy to get new Bytes out to you and your fiancé so you can enjoy all the features of the Byte.
