Triolet Jacket

By Ranked #118 - Men's Technical Shells September 19, 2011

I tried this jacket on in the local Patagonia shop this weekend in Vail, and I have to say I was pretty impressed. The Channel Blue color is just flat out awesome, and now that Patagonia has finally gone back to Gore-Tex instead of the H2No stuff, I'm a little more interested (haven't had the greatest luck with H2No in the past). I'll admit, there are certain things that I really dislike about Patagonia, and there are some things that are the greatest out there. As I'm sure everyone knows, Patagonia tends to make the men's jackets very boxy/square and short in the torso. I didn't try on everything at the store, but at least with this jacket, that's no longer the case. The torso length is spot on, and the jacket itself is a very nice relaxed, but not boxy fit. I went there with the girlfriend to try on a few things for her, and now because I can't help myself, I'm contemplating spending the cash for a new shell. My only complaint with this jacket is the arm length. Even in the size small, the arms are extremely long. Once you cinch up the wrist cuffs it's not a huge deal, but when I put my arms all the way in, you can't even see the ends of my fingers. They're that long. I understand for climbing (as I am a climber) it's better to have sleeves on the longer side, but these are a few inches too long. Other than that, which isn't a deal breaker, the jacket is awesome. Hopefully BC will be getting more of the Channel Blue color in size small in the near future?

I agree. The sleeve length on alot of there jackets are too long. I am 5'10-160 lbs were a medium and the sleeves are almost over the end of my fingers. For how much these shells are costing now days it better fit perfect. (Arcteryx)
