great pack, many uses

This is a great pack. I use it for long day hikes, particularly when extra gear is needed. The under-arm trekking pole stash is handy. You can also stuff them vertically on the side when you won't need them for a while. It is a very stable pack when scrambling up the rock, I forget it's on most of the time. It can be a bit of a challenge to pack as it is tall and slim to make room for the air frame by your back. But as someone who sweats a lot, this is a great feature.
The ice ax clip is nice so you don't have to worry about velcro straps.
If you pack light, you should even be able to use this for a quick overnight in the summer. I haven't tried, but it feels like it'd be pretty reasonable.
