I started kayaking using a regular life jacket (vs. a paddling jacket) and was constantly uncomfortable and chaffed. I barely feel this jacket and if I do, I just need to pull the shoulder straps back more and tighten it at the waist and I'm good to go (again). I've paddled for hours and miles with this jacket in flat water, class 2's, in choppy wavy conditions, etc. I love it!!!! All the pockets are great too- I can fit an extra large tube of sunscreen in the front pocket plus face sunscreen, keys, chapstick, a knife, etc. etc. etc. - very nice. You can ALMOST fit a bottle of water in that front pocket too but not quite ;)
